In the late night variety show SBS "Every Night" Kim Hyun-joong pointed out Won Bin and Kang Dong-won when he was asked "Is there any actor you envy the looks of?" Kim Hyun-joong said, "While I was watching movie "The Man From Nowhere", women screamed at the part where Won Bin cuts his hair by himself and I got jealous. I niggled saying 'how could someone cut his hair on his own so well?'". The star was asked, “Is there any actor that you’re jealous of in terms of physical looks?”. Kim Hyun Joong replied, “I was watching the movie ‘The Man From Nowhere‘ and noticed that women were raving over the scene where he shaves his own head. I think the reporter just copied the information from the news of those stars (except Won Bin) when their agencies released news about the stars' numbers of endorsements and product range the stars endorsed, because I read the same contents in those stars' news before. Since Won Bin's side haven't released any news about number of endorsements, the reporter has no such info to copy. I think the reporter just counted by himself and he counted it wrongly. [20/06/2011] The movie industry is curious to see if top star Won Bin and director Heo Jin-ho will join hands. Won Bin has recently got the love call of director Heo Jin-ho on the "Shanghai Project". It is a remake of "Dangerous Liaisons" with Singapore and a Chinese company he did "Season of Good Rain" with. "Dangerous Liaisons" is a novel by a French writer Choderlos de Lacos at the end of the 18th century has been made as a movie several times. It has been remade in Korea as "Untold Scandal" by Bae Yong-joon and Jeon Do-yeon. Director Heo is about to work with Shanghai, China as the background with Chinese top stars Fan Bingbing and Zhou Xun. The estimated budgest is 16 billion won (~US$15 millions). The production is hoping Won Bin will join the crew as he is popular not only in Korea but also in Japan and other Asian countries. Won Bin is also thinking positively about this project as his debut to Hollywood didn't go as planned due to many reasons. Won Bin has been getting many offers from movies and dramas ever since the movie "The Man From Nowhere" that came out in August last year. Hollywood also continuously made contact. However, Won Bin is still deciding on his next project a year after. Therefore, it is a big interest to see if Won Bin and director Heo Jin-ho will work together. The pictorial celebrates the magazine’s 100th issue, which will be released in July. 100 stars took part in the photo shoot, which included famous actors and actresses, as well as music groups and singers. Kim Tae Hee, Won Bin, DBSK, f(x), Song Seung Hun, and Lee Min Ho, were included, as well as many others. The name, “Star Craft, the 100” comes from the words “star,” and “arts and crafts;” providing the theme of many of the photos which were creative and took a modern art spin. A stamp was created in Won Bin’s image, while Goo Hara looked like a Victorian doll against a bright red background. Actress Kim Hee Sun had a duel role in her photo, where she dressed as both Snow White, and the evil stepmother. [30/06/2011] The Korean Wave has been sweeping through Asia lately, and North Korea has not been an exception. A Seoul-based radio station, Open Radio for North Korea, reported on June 28th that North Korean people have become huge fans of South Korean TV shows and movies recently, imitating the hairstyle, fashion, and speech they see on such programs. “As more North Koreans watch South Korean dramas or listen to K-pop songs, certain words and phrases have become the latest trends,” an unnamed source was quoted as saying. The source said old-school Trot singer Na Hoon Ah’s “Love” or Kim Bum Yong’s “Wind Wind Wind” became popular for quite a while now. Also, a lot of North Korean’s think Won Bin’s famous “How much do you need?” line from KBS drama “Autumn Tales” and Jang Dong Gun’s infamous “You go to Hawaii” line (with the Busan dialect) from the movie “Friend” are cool and trendy, as a lot of young college students and even highly educated people are seen imitating them often. The Korean Wave has also changed the way North Korean’s present gifts, the article said. “Now people sing happy birthday songs at birthdays and deliver flowers in artfully wrapped paper, just like they see in Korean dramas. Also, some people give makeup products from South Korea,” another source was quoted as saying. What's impressive is that this new custom is not only seen in the capital city of Pyong Yang but also in large border cities, the source said. “Under the current circumstances, no matter how hard the (North Korean) government tries, it’s impossible to block human nature to look for new content. LTE is a next-generation network that enables ultra high-speed data service by providing maximum downlink speed of 75Mbps, which is five times faster than that of 3G WCDMA network... The declaration ceremony, held at Lotte Hotel, was attended by 200 executives from both private and public sector... Starting with LTE commercialization in Seoul on 1 July, the company plans to complete LTE roll-out in 23 cities including the Seoul Metropolitan area and six metropolitan cities by early next year...
