What would your parents say if you were to present them
with a house? Not just any house, but a custom made, award winning house? Won Bin's "Route House" that he built in his hometown of Kang-won
province recently won a prestigious 2008 Korea Architecture Award. The actor's inspiration for his parents' new home? Pictures of Jennifer Lopez's
Beverly Hills home, which he took to his architect.
Won Bin made sure that the super modern house still had the warm remnants of his childhood Kangwondo home by adding touches like a brick accents for the
kitchen and other little details from their old house. Neighbors gushed to reporters in a mix of envy and awe about what a good son Won Bin is and what a
wonderful present this home is for his parents.

Won Bin is coming back!
He has filmed a commercial film recently in Australia. And right after, he went to the set where the movie was being filmed without even rest.
This film will be the first after his military service. "Mother" is his comeback film costarring with Kim Hye-ja directed by Bong Joon-ho who also
directed "The Host". This movie is a story by the mother, Kim Hye-ja about her innocent son, Won Bin who is being falsely accused of a murder.

It licensed "Oldboy" director Park Chan-wook's vampire movie "Thirst" to reborn Blighty distributor Palisades Tartan U.K. and Bong
Joon-ho's drama "Mother" to Diaphana for France.
Both pics are skedded for delivery next spring and are seeking major festival platforms.

This is the film that we covered a while back when Bong took it to the co-production market in Hong Kong to secure financing but for those who missed it
then, here's the basic set up. The film revolves around a woman who lives alone with her only son, a shy and socially reclusive young man. When a murder
occurs in their town the police are desperate for a conviction and so they pin the murder on the woman's son purely because he has no alibi. When the legal
defense proves incompetent it is up to the mother to prove her child's innocence on her own.
Hmmm ... incompetent police and a botched murder investigation? There are obvious differences but this certainly sounds like a return to familiar ground for
Bong and given just how strong a film Memories of Murder is that's a good thing, indeed.

This film is being promoted to the American Film Market and thse stills have been sent there.
The still pictures are of Kim Hye-ja the mother with the worried face and Won Bin, as the son who is looking outside the
" Mother " is about a son who is mitakenly taken to prison and falsely accused of being a murderer.
This film has been filmed only 20% and will be released to the Japanese market as well as other countries.
